Hi guys,

I'm new here! I first got into american football a few years back, when we got Virgin Media with ESPN, and I saw an NCAA game was on, so took a gander and here I am a few years later, a huge, huge football fan! I support the San Diego Chargers, and although I've watched more NCAA games than any other, I don't really have a favourite team for that!

I am 20, and this year I've even started playing football myself, so I am now officially a rookie player! I am also going to uni in September, so will be playing uniball there too, and I must say, I am loving everything and every second about the sport.

I hope to be around here for a while, learning from you guys and getting involved in discussions

Well hello from Canada... Or as you folks say "The Colonies". Glad to have you around... Enjoy your stay and chat and ask away... Don't be put off by the lack of traffic at this time because it's summer, in a lock out season and there simply isn't that much going on...

That being said, it will be nice to have someone else around that will be adding random "u"s to everything like I do.

BTW... What the hell is it with the UK and the Chargers!? Weird!

As for your college team I highly recommend you go with the boys in blue and orange from Gainesville. Only the truly cool people root for them.

Welcome to the forums man! Hope you enjoy it over here and as CS said it's summer and it's a lockout offseason, so don't be alarmed by the amount of traffic here.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcomes!

I can understand why it is so quiet, however football is nonstop for this rookie here (lucky me!) I get the UK league to play in during the summer, and the uni league to play in during term time! WOO!!!

Chargers - I chose them because they're in my favourite state and because I am fascinated by Usain Bolt (done a 30 page biomechanical study on his world records) and the bolt in the logo reminds me of him ;) Then there's also the fact I love the kit, as blue is my favourite colour!

Not gonna pick an NCAA team as it means I'll focus on just them more and I prefer keeping a cast eye over the whole thing whenever possible!

That's fine. As long as you come to realize the Big Ten is the most overrated conference as they usually play a cupcake schedule only to get throttled in the Bowl Games by a real team you'll be OK.
