Eagles Playing as Individuals
Vick is having a 90+ passer rating and 255+ yards a game.
Jackson is averaging 80+ yards a game.
McCoy is averaging 90+ yards a game.
Babin is leading the NFL in sacks.
Individually, they are not having a bad year. The problem with a Dream Team is that everyone is a star, and by definitino a star gets their individual stats ... that isn't always the best formula for success. They need someone to define for them how to be a team, not a bunch of individuals wearing similar outfits.

It's only been four weeks into the season. Everyone loves the Packers due to their star-studded talent, and they are the ones proving that they can win with a star-studded team. The Eagles just haven't found their groove yet with Vick dealing with injuries. They can still play like Green Bay, it's just that Vick needs to start being the captain of his football team on offense, just like Aaron Rodgers.

I disagree on a fundamental level with that... The major difference between the Packers and the Eagles is that the Packers are "home grown" where as the Eagles are just a bunch of mercs thrown together... There is no familiarity between the players yet, and that translates to the field. The Packers have pretty much had the same team for the last three years and it's taken this long for things to start clicking for them...
The Eagles could be there in two years, but chances are that in two years time, they'll have to purge their team and start a new again...
Frankly, the Eagles haven't been the same since they dropped Dawkins and later dropped McNabb... When Dawkins left, he took the soul of that team.

Getting individual stats and playing team ball is different than getting individual stats and playing like individuals. I didn't say that them getting individual stats meant they aren't a good team. I said they are a bad team despite having good stats of individuals, because they are functioning as individuals.
They took a bunch of guys with good individual stats and put them together and said "If they have individual performances, then how can they lose?" Well, we are seeing how.
They need need some team chemistry, and they wil be fine. But until they get that team chemistry, they will lose this week and go 1-4 and probably against the Skins to go 1-5 and that will pretty much be their season. I don't see them cracking off 10 strait after that to get back in the divisional race.

I don't think the team is really playing like individuals as individuals. For one, Michael Vick is kinda like Romo, playing through injury and choking a little right now. Secondly, Alex Henery is a rookie kicker who did not play well in key field goals. Jeremy Maclin fumbled late in the game. This has nothing to do with them not getting along with team chemistry, if that was the case they would probably be doing worse right now. their running defense is AWFUL. It's no surprise that Frank Gore shredded them the whole game. They were really called the "Dream Team" because of Vick being signed and them signing Nnamdi Asomugha, that was really about all they did. And sure, go ahead and find some way to bash me about what I just said, but before you do, look at who've they played.

I'm not bashing you. The plays I've looked at (I admit I don't watch their full games), they don't look like a team playing together. The offensive line are especially not on the same page ... Vick is scrambling around with WRs out of place and having to extend plays to get what he wants ... they just don't look fluid together. They have to get that factor. Last year, they looked good together ... I'm not sure what's changed.
They also signed VY as their 2nd string QB, who dubbed them the Dream Team and who hasn't dressed for a game yet, I think. They hired the NFL's sack leader Babin. Steve Smith, Donald Lee, Higgins ... they made some moves to get better in the off season.
I think this is the oversight ... you bring in all these brand new guys that have nothing to do with your system and that have never played together. Sure, they are individually great ... but with no time to build chemistry or confidence or TRUST together in each other in the off-season because there was no off-season, they are having to do it on the fly. It is hard to build confidence and trust in each other when you are losing games, so guys try to do too much create turnovers ... they need a win they can cling to and build that confidence and trust on, problem is how to get it.

Again... In two or three years, they will be fine.

In 2 or 3 years that star CB won't be tops in the league, Vick will not be fine, Babin will be gone ... they will be on a youth movement in 2-3 years. They brought this talent in with the assumption that they were going to do something now ... this was a desperation move to get a championship more than it was a well-thoughtout chess move for the long term.

Simple fact is that they Eagles have been massively overrated since last year. They have more flaws this year than they had last year, they'll be lucky to make the playoffs at all much less win a SB.
