I'm going to use one play that I saw in the Bears-Seahawks game as an example, but please note that I watch many other teams play and I've been seeing the same thing in virtually every game I see. Why is it that every time a player makes a physical play, the refs throw a flag for unnecessary roughness? It's one thing if you are a douchebag like Haynesworth who just does something violent that has nothing to do with football, and the only purpose is to cause injury to another player. It's another if you're Mike Brown, running at full speed towards a Seattle receiver, and you collide with him a foot out of bounds as you make an attempt to force him out of bounds. How is that unnecessarily rough? What the **** is going on? Granted, it had no impact on the game whatsoever as the Bears cruised on to win that game. But I've seen more questionable "unnecessary roughness" penalties this year than any other season. Why?

I didnt see the specific play you mentioned, but Im gonna guess that theyre throwing the flag because the play is unnecissarily rough

It wasn't "unnecessarily rough." Mike Brown did not pick up dude and suplex him when the whistle was blown. He didn't take off his helmet and kick him in the face. He didn't intentionally hit him after he knew the play was over, or when he knew he wouldn't be able to defend himself just to inflict pain and/or cause injury. He was just trying to make a play, and he couldn't shift down his gears fast enough. And got flagged for it.

That's just one example. I'm sure I could go back at virtually every other game I've seen this season and pick out at least one ***** call from each.
