Muschamp apologizes for sideline language against Auburn

Quote:
If anyone watched Saturday’s game between Florida and Auburn, you no doubt caught more than a few video — and audio — clips of Gators coach Will Muschamp “expressing his displeasure” with the officiating that night.

Muschamp was particularly irate during a pair of plays involving running back Chris Rainey, once during a play where Muschamp felt there should have been a holding call on Rainey, and the other on a muffed punt by Rainey where the coach felt there was interference.

In his Tuesday press conference, Muschamp apologized for his language — and that’s about it.

“I do want to apologize for my language on the sidelines the other night,” Muschamp said. “That’s not something that’s going to be tolerated here at the University of Florida, first of all, by me and our program. That’s certainly not representative of what this program and this university is about.’

“It’s hard when you’ve got a 6-year-old and a 10-year-old at home and you’ve got to go home and explain to them what you said. So that’s not good and that’s not how we’re going to run our program. That’s it. Again, as far as the sideline stuff’s concerned, we’re going to be who we are. I’m just apologizing for the language, nothing else.”

Muschamp is a fiery guy, but it doesn’t look like Florida is going to take any public stance on the matter. What do you think? Should Muschamp be reprimanded for his language or behavior during Saturday’s game?
