Buccaneers Bucs arenít interested in trading Josh Johnson

Quote:
Bucs quarterback Josh Johnson has quietly developed into one of the leagueís more promising backups. Bucs G.M. Mark Dominik doesnít intend to change that by sending Johnson elsewhere.

NFL.comís Jason LaCanfora writes that the Bucs arenít interested in trading Johnson. There has been some speculation that the 49ers could be interested because Johnson has worked with Jim Harbaugh, but that never rose above dot connecting by reporters.

Johnson looked good against the Chiefs last week in the preseason, but weíre not sure there would be a huge trade market for him at this point anyway. He will be an intriguing free agent after the season.

I hope that they lock him up for another three/four seasons with a reasonable pay check... I was a fan of his since they drafted him the year before they got Freeman. He IS a very good backup QB and has the speed to make plays with his feet and run some special packages and plays.

Well he becomes a FA at the end of this season and I know for a fact that if the Alex Smith Project doesn't work out Harbaugh will be pursuing his former USD quarterback.

I don't think so, first thing he's going to do assuming he's still the HC is draft Luck.

First of all, no way he's fired after one season. Even if he goes 0-16.

And even if he goes out and drafts Luck (assuming we have that high of a pick or Luck falls that low), I still believe he'd want a veteran backup and he loves Johnson.

Don't be so sure, Smith has gotten 2 head coaches fired already, and who knows how many OCs. I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Harbaugh gone by this time next year.

Alls I hope is that the Seahawks steal into the playoffs again this year, getting the 21st pick again, crushing any luck they have at landing any of the top 4 QBs in next year's draft, and having to draft Case Keenum, so that MS will have to eat crow... Or pick up Smith in free agency, so that he again has to eat crow!!!

That is my hope. Now make it happen!

CS can never make up his mind, he was your favorite college QB a couple of months ago. LOL. Besides, there are plenty of QBs in next year's draft, there actually might be more QBs than there is demand for once. But we all know that Moore will be the steal of the draft just like Tom Brady was.
