After all the hullabaloo, no charges filed against Lobo with saggin’ pants

Well, this is certainly anti-climactic — considering, of course, that the airline altercation involving New Mexico defensive back Deshon Marman turned out to be one of the more head-cocking off-the-field incidents of June.
Hell, of the whole year thus far.
Marman, who was returning to New Mexico from San Francisco following a funeral, was reportedly approached on at least one occasion by a US Airways employee for wearing his pants “below his buttocks but above the knees, and that much of his boxer shorts were exposed.”
According to a police report, Marman refused to pull up his drawers and was slapped initially charged with suspicion of trespassing, battery and resisting arrest.
A video of the altercation surfaced shortly thereafter, although it doesn’t show Marman’s alleged saggin’ drawers, nor does it document the entire incident.
But regardless of any semi-fuzzy video evidence — in favor of Marman or otherwise — no criminal charges will be filed against the New Mexico transfer.
The statements below were released following the decision:
“While we believe the officers on scene acted appropriately and professionally during the over one hour that they were in contact with Mr. Marman and repeatedly attempted to resolve the situation without difficulty, and while Mr. Marman could have quickly obviated the need for further intervention, we do not believe that criminal charges are warranted in light of all the circumstances surrounding the incident,” said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
“I knew that my son hadn’t done anything. It’s just a process that we had to go through,” said Marman’s mother, Donna Doyle. “I’m saddened that the district attorney took so long to do so, but I’m grateful that they have come to this decision to not pursue anything because there was nothing to pursue.”
